The legend of Acting at Blog, Amitabh Bachchan.....

am-1

What better way to present myself in your midst, but with folded hands .. a symbol a gesture, a greeting of reverence, a condition of acceptance, in humility and in prayer …

There is complete submission in the ‘namaste’ ! The oft repeated joke on the Western greeting of the hand shake is - acknowledging with one hand, the other hand on the sword ! Ha ! One never knows where these theories come about from, but come they do and remain eternal somehow.

The day off from work was a respite more for those laboring unit hands, than for the artists. We get treated like special guests on set, but it is the hard working and never rewarded workers on production that put in the most hours. They are there hours before us, and leave hours after we have left. But you never hear of them. They work silently and most laboriously than any other. No one pays attention to their credits in the titles at the end of a film - the font is so small and the speed at which they roll, nobody is ever able to catch anything. No matter what the circumstance and condition, they are there bearing the consequences. Glory be to them ! Cinema would not be cinema without them !

I recovered from the scare of a switched off and unconnected internet last night. Recovered from the loss of content. And have literally slept through the day apart from some work meetings and a slight dubbing stint early in the day. It is remarkable to know how much rest your body needs. It is only when we indulge it to reveal, does it tell us in no uncertain terms, how much misuse there is. I dozed off watching the World Cup match, West Indies vs Australia at around 2:30 in the afternoon and woke up by 8 PM .. !! That a lot of sleep ! In the day !! And to think of it, shall be getting back there again in a while !!

Last night on the disaster of the erased and lost post I pondered again of trying to recollect it tonight. But somehow it just does not seem the same. Its the spontaneity of the moment. Its like living and breathing those special thoughts and then losing them to the atmosphere. Its like the breathe you lost .. unrecoverable, unreplaceable !!

The ambience of the moment was directed towards the silence from the music, and all that came after, was connected in a sense to just that. How radio and DJ’s had overtaken music outputs, how dance moments at special evenings had been replaced by the lounge club, how the connect with ballroom dancing had now been devised to keep partners away from each other … and so many other observations … lost and gone forever ! No sweat ! Will do better next time - careful and better !

SKYPED with Abhishek and Aishwarya in LA and with my grandchildren Agastya and Navya in Delhi and revelled in the facilities of
